Fancy a laugh?
I came across this bitter person's attempt at defaming both Gentoox and myself (I'm sure the older readers will remember my initial run-ins with this guy).
It's funny to see how he feels it's so important to remove "Gentoox" branding from all the places he can and to change the British spelling of "Initialising" to "Initializing". It's surprising my copyrights haven't been removed from the comments too!The guy clearly has no idea how the GPL works (see his rant about asking me to be GPL-compliant). For those not in the know, the GPL requries that I make the source available on request (which it _always_ has been). I'm not actually sure what his argument is here. I think his inability to navigate a website got the better of him as he was unable to find the source code. Regardless of this, I do not have to put the source code on the website at all - I can keep it out of reach of everyone if I so choose to and make it available on request. Since that's a fairly mean and pointless thing to do, I put it up on the website since day 1. It's hard for some people to admit they're wrong, no? :)
I love the way he tries to force everything down the reader's throat: "just use my cromwell distribution, and don't ever look back." Yes, use his cromwell distribution, which is just Gentoox loader with a patch to remove all instances of "Gentoox" in the source code. Also, when you can't fix problems... why not just ignore them as his patch does?:
-CFLAGSBR = -Wall -Werror +CFLAGSBR = -WallGood work, sir!
By the end of his pointless rant it all seems to become a bit too much for him because he states that he now hates the Xbox and Linux, poor guy. So, you can either follow his advice and possibly end up hating your Xbox, or you can use Gentoox, which has had all of the hardwork done for you.
My closing thoughts: Enjoy the free traffic to your website, sir, I'm pretty sure this'll be about the only way you're going to get any :) And remember everyone, there is NO GOOD REASON to run Gentoox on your Xbox! Why? Because he said so!
