I've spent the weekend moving daemons, physically moving hardware and even swapping hard drives... but I think I'm mostly done!

My router is about half as loud as it used to be (thanks to using a hard drive from an old laptop) and my Mac Mini is ready to do - EXCEPT, it won't boot without a monitor connected (thanks to boot camp's VGA bios emulation blocking when it tries to detect a monitor). I figure that a solution to this is to plug in a DVI -> SVideo connector as this probably contains circuitry to tell the Mac Mini what kind of monitor is connected (a TV). I've ordered said adaptor and it should be with me before Christmas. So if all goes well, everything will be in place by the 20th!
