Well, it's a pretty sad day. I've decided to host this site off of a different, non-Xbox, system. The more observant of you will have seen my free disk space suddenly rocket upwards today. This was me clearing out old junk I don't need to make the server transition easier. My reasoning for changing server hardware? Spam emails.

Recently, I have been getting an increasing number of spam emails each day (I'm currently up to about 300..350 spam emails per day). All of these spam emails have to get filtered through SpamAssassin, and occasionally these emails will come in groups of 20-30. Even with setting SpamAssassin's niceness to 20, my load average reaches 80.00! This makes the server utterly unusable. On top of this, people keep requesting pages from Apache during these times, which further adds to the system load!

I've shelled out for a Mac Mini, which should hopefully be here by Tuesday/ Wednesday. I probably won't have the time to move the server and data over until sometime over the weekend, but I'm giving you all a heads up now of any down time (I'll try to keep downtime minimal by running the old and new servers in parallel).

Does this mean I'm giving up on Gentoox? ABSOLUTELY NOT! If people still have requests or need help, keep emailing me, coming in to IRC or posting in the forums and I'll get back to you.

Thanks for your understanding!
