News : It's the night of coding and giving...
I got even more bored after finishing phpSysInfo so I decided to update "shallaxs_i2c_tools". For those not in the know, these are tools that I include with Gentoox to control the Xbox's fan speed, display temperature read-outs and control the LED.So whats new? Loadmonitor! Loadmonitor used to be a horrible little bashscript that was run by cron every 10 minutes to update the Xbox's LED depending on the system load - not anymore! It's now a C written daemon that does everything in the background without the need for ANY third party tools (such as cron, or the led tool). Because its not being run by cron anymore and doesnt require any HDD I/O to be run once loaded, it can update faster (currently the default is every 10 seconds, previously it was every 5 minutes).
Anyway, enough of my rambling... go try it out - run magic now to update (you will need to either start the loadmonitor script manually the first time or reboot to have it automatically started by the Gentoo rc system). Sources, as always, are available in the magic repository.
For those wondering... the download is so big because I decided to release statically compiled binaries to help with compatibility across all systems.
*Update*
I woke up to find that loadmonitor had crashed on all the boxes I had it running on (oops!). The problem turned out to be that I wasn't closing the file being read in proc. A new version has been released which should run fine! Run magic to update.
