News : Got the 360...
...after driving 100 miles to 3 different stores and waiting 5 hours in line (originally it was going to be 13 hours, but they decided they would sell at 12:00am instead of making us wait until 08:00am. Two managers told us we would NEED to wait until 08:00am and that it was totally non-negotiable AND told us we were a security risk (implying we were thieves - keep in mind I'm staff at this company too!) so we would have to queue outside in the rain - thanks for that! They had 1 premium bundle and 5 core editions. I was second in line (by just a few minutes - if I had been earlier, I'd have been first!) so I got stuck with a core edition. I wasn't going to walk away empty handed since stock will be gone for months! With staff discount, that cost me $336.52 (£188). Tomorrow I'm going to hunt for the hard-drive addon - the headset, remote and wireless controller don't bother me since they won't be requirements for hacking the thing (I wouldnt think...) whereas the hard drive is pretty much essential.
I was pretty amazed at how heavy the whole system is... and that it contains a mercury tilt switch to ensure that the LEDs on the front are always upright (overkill or what, heh). I guess I'm kind of disappointed about not getting the premium bundle (hey, it has a silver DVD tray front rather than plain white) but it doesn't make much of a difference.
If any of the guys are reading this that were in Stevenage Tesco with me... I had a great time sitting around for hours with you ;) Happy gaming!
Anyway, the litre of Redbull knock-off that I drank is finally starting to wear off - 5 hours later! I'm going to bed!
Thanks again to all the donors who made this possible!
