I just discovered that I have a further two Samsung drives in a SATA RAID (I thought these were Seagates!). Anyway, being cautious, I ran an extended SMART test on both of these drives... guess what? Yep, one of them had a read fail (along with 27,000 logged errors)! So out of the 5 Samsung hard drives I purchased, 3 are broken. I've sent an email to Samsung demanding a refund for all of them (they have a 36 month warranty) so I'll see how far I get. I absolutely refuse to accept that these broke by chance and I'll refuse to accept a repair or replacement. Trust me people, do NOT buy Samsung products!
