News : Magic upgrades
The magic server is now run from "ShAPAChE" which is my own httpd. This means I'll have greater control over the server (speed caps/ bans etc...). I'll also look into writing some sort of statistics programme which generates usage information. What I ask from people is to try magic out and let me know if it goes wrong! Thanks!
*Update*
Beta statistics generator is online.
Banning is now implemented - behave.
Server side speed throttling has now been implemented.
Right, 5 versions later, I'm happy with ShAPAChE (shame I didnt do all this work before I submitted it to university!). I'll put a feature freeze on the server software for now so I can test it for overall stability. From now on, if you have any problems (e.g. decompression failures, download failures) when running magic PLEASE report them along with your IP address so I can debug. I have been testing this server since about the 20th of December on a remote server with varied content and it seems to be fine, so I'm not expecting there to be any problems! Also, I've noticed someone has already put in a "message" to be shown in the stats file. I'm not too bothered about this, but ANYTHING offensive will result in you being banned unconditionally and indefinitely from magic.
*Update 2*
v1.06 - Dynamic memory mapping in Parser
v1.07 - Fixed some minor bugs relating to the server returning 403 errors if no leading / was placed on GET requests.
v1.08 - Parser now shows which people have been banned. This could be used as a warning to other people to see what actions have led to people being banned.
v1.09 - Major bug fixed in parser, it no longer segfaults! ;)
v1.10 - Anonymous stats mode (for public display). I can still see who is accessing what and doing what!
v1.11 - Stats can be sorted now.
v1.12 - Total usage stats now unique and non-unique. Stats are also dynamically generated now.
v1.13 - Total hits displayed.
v1.14 - Directory listings are now somewhat pretty.
v1.15 - Full filepaths no longer shown. Logs reset to reflect change.
v1.16 - Totals shown at the top of the stats list.
v1.17 - Last accessed date shown for individual clients in parser.
