I know I've done this before... and for the same reason in the past, but I'm desperate. My laptop has once again broken. No, this time it's not the screen that has snapped off, but the keyboard which has stopped working. There are only a few keys which still work... 2890-=skl;#x,./ to be precise. I wouldnt be too fussed, but this laptop is an integral part of my University life (I do most of my work on it). As I'm sure the students among you know... we generally don't have much money which is why I am having to make this appeal. If you can donate, please either contact me (using the contact link), or click the "Make a Donation" button on the left to send money via PayPal. As always, you will be credited by having your name put on the site. Any amount is welcome, if I cant get enough for a laptop itself, then I may be able to get enough for a new motherboard for this existing one (I'm pretty sure the keyboard controller is half-dead since I've tried cleaning the contacts).

Thank you for your consideration. I promise I won't exploit people by leaving this as a long-running donation period. Once I have enough for a laptop, I will inform you.
(Donors will be migrated to the proper Donors list once this donation session is over)

*Update*
Wow... little after about 5 minutes of me posting and someone has already donated! Its nice to see that people still care, thank you!

People donating small values such as $0.01 and $0.10... save yourself the hassle and just dont bother, I consider it an insult because I KNOW you are not being serious. PayPal take away all of the donation in fees anyway. You WILL NOT be added to this list. The same goes for people making offensive emails... why bother? It gets you nowhere, and changes nothing... either you want to donate, or you dont - lets keep this civilized.

*Update 2*
Right, it looks like donations have trickled to a halt... and after some long hard decisions (and going from store to store both online and offline)... I have decided NOT to go for an eBay laptop - they're all way overpriced in the UK for what they are... and look where it got me the last two times! Instead, I have gone for a DELL Inspiron 510M. As you may have noticed, the donations don't cover the entire cost (I've had around £230 in donations which is an incredibly good turnout!)... the remaining cost will have to come from somewhere - not exactly sure yet, but I've got two months to figure that out as I've put it on credit.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who donated - I'm pretty sure I emailed you all individually, but in the unlikely event that I missed any of you... Thank you! Without you there would have been no hope of me getting a replacement. I have decided that in future releases, I will be including a "Contributers" text file with a list of all people who have donated. It's the least I can do to show my gratitude.

Hopefully the Laptop will be delivered within 7-10 days.
