Sorry about the brief down time, I decided to take the server apart and vacuum the 17 months worth of dust out of it... this has made the fan MUCH quieter. While I was at it, I took the cpu cooler off and dissolved the pink pad of death (heat transfer pad). I replaced it with some Arctic Silver thermal epoxy so keep an eye on the temperature graphs to see if any of this work was worthwhile :).
