Out of curiosity (okay, maybe utter boredom), I decided to install Home v1.0 to see what it was like and how far I had come since March 2003. Everything installed and ran fine and it was good seeing how much I had achieved since then. I then thought "Why stop at that?". I figured I'd try running magic. Initially I got some problems with portage - it was too far out of date to update itself, so I updated it by hand and then update bintools, glibc and gcc. After this, I re-ran magic and it updated EVERYTHING without a problem. It's now more or less just like Home v4.0!

How's that for backward compatibility? :)
